Movies
The Sure Thing (1985)
Nicollette’s first film role. In this movie, directed by Rob Reiner, Walter ‘Gib’ Gibson (Cusack), a self-involved college fresman decides to go cross country to visit his friend in California during Christmas break. Awaiting there is a bikini-clad babe whom his friend assures him is a "sure thing". Likewise planning a journey is Allison Bradbury, a beautiful but uptight student in Gib’s English class has also decided to head out to California to see her wealthy, stuffy law school boyfriend. Gib and Allison are thrust together on a road trip from hell, as the misadventures pile up, the initially contentious pair begin to find each other’s company to be tolerable. Now, what will become of Gib’s "sure thing?" Pays subtle homage, with gentle lyricism, to the classic screwballs of early Hollywood.
Nicollette plays The Sure Thing, the girl willing to be with Gib, no strings attached. She’s seen in a bikini in most of the movie and barely has a few words towards the end.
"He thinks you might be gay"

Lucky Chances (1990)
Based on Jackie Collin’s novels "Chances" and "Lucky", this miniseries features the rise of Gino Santangelo in the Las Vegas casino industry, and his daughter Lucky’s struggle to maintain the family empire.
Youg street punk Gino bootlegs ilicit booze while he searches for a way to climb the ladder of success. He is soon guided into the lucrative world of big business. And eventually opens a lavish casino in fast-growing Las Vegas. His happiness seems complete with the birth of his daughter, Lucky. But her wild, headstrong ways to prove herself become the bane of his life, while the many enemies he made will do anything to bring down his empire and cause him pain.
Nicollette died her hair for this role, and plays Lucky Santangelo Richmond Stanislopolous Golden; both teen and her adult self. She does a great job portraying a woman trying to prove herself in a men’s world.
"Daddy’s not gonna miss me"
"Gino, I want you to say hello to my future"

Noises Off… (1992)
Lloyd Fellows is the director of a theatre company. He’s desperately trying to get his production together, despite the best efforts of the cast, the crew, and Lady Luck. We follow the production from final rehersals, through opening night, and onto the tour: as with any group of actors forced to work closely together for any great length of time, romances and arguments are bound to break out. Quite often, what’s happening on stage is nothing compared to what’s happening backstage.
The movie is adaptated from the 1982 play written by Michael Frayn, having some changes made for the theatrical release. The concept is a play within a play. It received mixed critics.
This time Nicollette plays two characters in one. Brooke Ashton, the actress and Vicki the role Brooke portraits on the play. Famous for being myopic, Brooke knows her lines by heart and keeps saying them even if her castmates are forced to change the dialogues.
"That’s another bathroom. You always try to get me in the bathrooms!"
"You mean Selsdon? I’m not blind. I can see Selsdon"

A Time To Heal (1994)
Based on a true story, this NBC movie tells the story of Jenny, who suffers a stroke (caused by protein deficiency) during childbirth and leaves her husband Jay to juggle a career and fatherhood. Jay has to come to terms with the loss of his ‘old’ wife and shows amazing courage by sticking by her and learning to adapt to the harsh reality of a new lifestyle. Life becomes a struggle for both of them and although Jay is very pleased his wife is still alive he also has to deal with his feelings of loss once she starts to get better. The story illustrates the huge practical and emotional difficulties a family can face following a partner’s major illness and that sometimes it is possible to grieve for someone even though they have survived.
Nicollette tried to change with this movie, playing Jenny Barton. She worked hard and spent weeks at Northridge Hospital. She worked with physical therapists and even used a wheelchair in her house to try and duplicate her characer’s struggle. She tried to simulate paralysis and aphasia. She also talked with real life Jenny to get into her head.

Spy Hard (1996)
Spoof movie. The plot is the standard story of secret agent Dick Steele, Agent WD-40 (a play on 007) who, along with Veronique Ukrinsky, Agent 3.14, must stop the evil genius, General Rancor from taking over the world. Rancor was wounded in an earlier encounter and no longer has arms; however, he can ‘arm’ himself by attaching robotic limbs with various weapons attached.
General Rancor is threatening to destroy the world with a missile he is hiding at his secret base. But to complete his goal, he needs a special computer chip, invented by the scientist Professor Ukrinsky.
Different pop culture and movie references can be seen during the movie.
Nicollette, as a brunette this time, plays Agent 3.14 daughter of Profesor Ukrinsky, kidnapped by General Rancor. A funny role that mixes sexuality and lots of action scenes.
