It was a victory in court yesterday when Judge White ruled Nicollette doesn’t have to give further testimony of conversations with a lawyer she consulted before filing a lawsuit against Desperate Housewives‘ creator. Levin said he only wanted to ask the actress about those conversations with Meyer in which she asked him to tell officials at ABC Studios and Touchstone Television Productions what Cherry had allegedly done to her.

Los Angeles Superior Court rejected Cherry’s attorney Adam Levin’s claim that portions of the conversations were not protected by attorney client-privilege.; saying “I think it is a very extreme position to take.”

But defense attorneys recently filed papers asking the entire case to be dismissed, claiming Marc Cherry decided to kill off Edie Britt four months before the mentioned assault. On papers filed earlier this month Levin says “characters die on television series all the time (…) death is as much a part of scripted television as it is a part of life. Of course, whenever a character dies, an actor loses a job. That is what happened here.” And according to those papers, Cherry decided to eliminate Sheridan’s character in May 2008. “Cherry believed that the character had run its course and that her death would invigorate the show,” Levin’s papers also add Sheridan and the other actors were not told of the impending development until nine months later.

According to Levin, Sheridan’s assertion that her complaint that Cherry hit her in the head with an open hand in September 2008 led to her firing is undercut by the evidence of the earlier decision to eliminate her character from the show.”It is axiomatic that the termination decision in May (2008) could not have been motivated by any complaint that occurred on Sept. 24.”

The papers also challenge Sheridan’s claim she was struck hard by Cherry after she questioned him about a change in a script. He states an investigation by Touchstoen concluded he merely gave her “a light tap on the side of the head for the sole purpose of providing direction for a scene they were rehearsing” and that Cherry later apologized. The actress “never communicated to anyone that she believed Cherry hit her because of her sexual orientation, her age or her gender,” Levin’s court papers state. “Sheridan candidly admits that she does not know why Cherry hit her.” And that Sheridan was “obviously unhappy to lose her job as a highly compensated star of ‘Desperate Housewives‘.”

According to TMZ, Nicollette has dropped her claims of discrimination and harassment based on sex, age and sexual orientation. But the case is not over, with claims of assault and battery and wrongful termination still on.

However, I know this and the previous stipulation have been submited to court by the defendants’s attorney and not Nicollette’s. Have these matters been resolved in private?

Different publications report Nicollette dropped the most explosive claim on her lawsuit against Marc Cherry and ABC. The stipulation filed Friday, Nicollette retracts her claim for intentional infliction of emotional disgress and won’t assert any claim for emotion or physical damages; the defense won’t make her undergo mental or physical examination.

Nicollette, who sued over alleged assault and battery, wrongful termination and sex and gender discrimination will proceed with the case pursuing lost wages, benefits and financial conmpensations. Sheridan states in the new papers that while those claims are still valid, she is removing them to streamline the case. The defense agreed and the case will move forward as planned.

Somehow I think this is a bad move for Nicollette as a lot of people will think she was lying (which I don’t, remember September 2008 and all the rumors online about her being slapped on set) but at the same time it’s good for both sides as it’ll be a hard point to prove for any of them. I do see a case for wrongful termination. I think going back to interviews in 2004 anyone could see how different, and sometimes disrespectfully, Marc Cherry talks about Nicollette; how her exit from the show was rushed and only lasted 2 episodes: 5.18 and 5.19; and for budget reasons: 6 different actors were hired full time the following season.
We haven’t heard the end of this and if the case goes to court as planned, we’ll have to wait a little longer.

UPDATE: As you know, all reports claim that Nicollette filed an amend on Friday, whoever I can’t find any track of that but an stipulation and order (about that issue) filed by the Defendant this Monday. As Linda Sharps from The Stir says, if he was truly innocent would the defense be so eager to drop their demands? She also asks why Nicollette did it, if it was difficult to prove any emotional or physical damages after all this time or if it’ll cause her more distress.

As you might know there are four Nicollette Sheridan’s profiles on twitter (five if you count this website’s account). One is inactive and another admitted being fake early this year. I’ve always had suspicions but didn’t want to say anything until I knew 100%.

Now I can finally confirm that Nicollette IS NOT on twitter and anybody claiming to be her is an impersonator. She was asked directly about her presence on the social network website and her answer was a straight “no”.

When and if Nicollette actually decides to join twitter, I’ll let you know.

Among a lot of irregularities, there were some particular ones that are the reason I never believed any of them. Mentions to Desperate Housewives such as upcoming guest appearances; the lack of information/details about projects, wrongly name the CBS pilot and confirm what later were proved to be false rumors; the childish behavior and attack to everybody; not reporting the others to get them suspended; tweets “via web” when Nicollette was filming; not even one mention to the National Guide Dog Month this September, we all remember the millions of tweets of Eva Longoria about TwitChange, right? And more importantly, that after 1 year all of them refused to prove their identity, we live in an era where everybody has a camera on their phones to snap a quick picture. Celebrities let their fans knows they’re the real ones with videos or pictures to prevent them to follow posers.

You can read these two guides to identify fakes easily if they surface again.

Let’s not fuel these people by replying or following them because they’re only playing with our feelings. Unfollow and even block if you think it’s necessary while we wait for them to be suspended.

Last night Nicollette was the co-host (and celebrity ambassasor) along with Linda Gray for the 2010 Fashion Fights Back fundraiser at the Westfield Topanga Shopping Center.

The event consisted on shopping for a cause where a percentage of the proceeds will benefit The Grossman Burn Foundation’s Stop Violence Against Women Project.

Participating retailers included Neiman Marcus, Michael Kors, Dermalogica, Madison, Stewart Weistzman, Swarovski, Louis Vuiton, Posh, RYU by Stella Salvatore Ferragamo, Tiffany and Co., Ben Bridge Jeweler, Jimmy Choo and Hugo Boss. In addition to special offers in the participating stores there was raffle prizes, spa treatments, cocktails, appetizers and DJ Ritchie Rich supplying the sounds.

Today I bring you a mix of confirmed news and rumors of Honeymoon For One.

On the very-likely-to-be-true-but-it’s-not-official front we have Rick Suvalle in charge of the script, Doireann Ní Chorragáin could be playing a character named Cindy, Greg Wise will be Sean, Elga Fox can be on board and there might be a character called Miles. I’m also hearing rumors that the movie could premiere before the year ends, but I take this with a graint of salt considering we’re on mid-October right now.

Confirmed there’s director Kevin Connor and acting alongside Nicollette and Victoria Smurfit are Aoibhin Garrihy (as florist), singer Maria Tecce (Jenna) and Juliette Gash (Bridget). But there are also men on the project; Patrick Baladi (Greg), Jonathan White (William) and Sean Power (Renfro).

Filming finished recently and post-production will begin soon. One of the last locations has been the beautiful village of Enniskerry.

I’m glad to announce I can finally share with you some filming details of Nicollette’s new movie. Like for example, Victoria Smurfit is also working in the project.

One paper reported Nicollette wasted no time on getting to work on her top-secret movie after flying to Ireland last week.
The feature is being produced by Parallel Film Productions but they decline to give out any detail; a spokesperson said “at this moment, I can’t comment”. Even crew members are keeping it tight-lipped.

Nicollette has been spotted on set dressed casual, with not much make-up on and looking stunning, happy, relaxed and “very healthy, not too thin” by witness during a break outside the office suites at the Beacon Hill Court beside the Sandyford hospital. She seemed low key despite attracting quite the attention.

And a few days later another newspaper tells us a little more (and confirms some of my suspicions). She has been filming more recently on Powerscourt waterfall in Co Wicklow for her upcoming Hallmark Channel feature Honeymoon For One.

Nicollette, who apparently plays a character named Eve, was filming a scene where she crosses a stream and breaks a high hell, before meeting a young girl and her father.

Nicollette has a yet-to-be-announced romantic comedy coming up that will start in a few weeks.

“I can’t say anything about it yet,” she says.

Is it contemporary? “It is contemporary.” What’s her character like? “She’s a very smart, benevolent human being — the antithesis of my character on ‘Desperate Housewives.’ It’s a feel-good movie. But I can’t say more.”
