Back in April, Nicollette was one of the presenters at the PRISM Awards. Now you can watch it on tv as the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc will expand its telecast this year to not only FX Network but additional cable networks, local cable and broadcast outlets, video on demand and web streaming. The show is a tribute to production and performances accurately depicting substance abuse and mental health issues, and begins airing on September 25th.

In addition to FX, other cable networks signed on to air the show include TV Guide Network, REELZCHANNEL, mtvU, National Geographic Channel, ION Life, and Retirement Living TV. Time Warner Cable is the first cable system to agree to air the show on local access. The cable window shuts September 30. However, outlets can continue to air the special via VOD and on the internet through the end of October, at which point, broadcast stations will begin airing the show locally. E!, MTV and TV Guide Network will offer the show in their VOD folders, while Bravotv.com, MTV.com and TVGuide.com will stream the show.

The 15th Annual PRISM Awards Showcase will be simulcast at 4:00 p.m. on September 25th with an encore at 1:00 a.m. with feeds on both coasts, but will air at additional times on some outlets. It is produced by EIC, in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) and FX Network.

Nicollette stopped this morning on Today Show’ Kathie Lee & Hoda (with Billy Bush filling in for Hoda) and said “That’s news to me” when asked about Cherry’s plans of bringing her back for the finale of ‘Desperate Housewives‘.

Bush pushed asking “If asked, would you come back?”

“I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her! She’s dead,” was her answer.

Bush mentioned she could be on a flashback or it’d be a dream she died.

“Is this turning into a daytime soap opera?” Sheridan deadpanned.

“In other words, she’s saying no!” said Gifford.

Unless it is in the form of flashbacks (Brenda Strong has promised more flashbacks with her character), we know it isn’t possible that Edie comes back. And we’re all also aware of the off-screen drama going on but today at the ABC’s Television Critic Association Summer Press Tour, Cherry talked about his plans for the very last episode of the show.

As for specifics about the final season, Cherry hinted we may not have seen the last of Nicollette Sheridan’s Edie. “I don’t know how I would do that but I have an idea for the last episode in which I want to [pay] homage to everyone that’s been there before, you know, who’s been on the show, so we’ll see what happens with that.”

Did I start a rumor without wanting to? A few weeks ago I asked on twitter if, with all those 80s-90s shows getting remakes, sequels, etc., they will do one of Knots Landing as well. And, you know, maybe have Nicollette back on our tvs.

Stacy Jenel from Creators was asked in her column if there was any truth to the rumors. Stacy said there isn’t any evidence of that and asked Nicollette who said “I haven’t heard any such thing. I’d be surprised. It would be pretty hard to replicate it. It ran for 14 years, and it had its time in the sun and was a huge success.”She also added she’s not sure a new version of the show would work today. “I don’t know if it could. I think the times are changing and things are getting edgier and more surprising.”

Surprised can’t even describe how I feel after learning Edie/Nicollette is featured on the latest starter kit for the new season of Desperate Housewives. I could understand if there was a few scenes of her threw in the video, but a complete feature on her character? Considering her face is blurred on one of the bonus of season 5 dvd boxset… I wonder what this means exactly…
